The SONIFEX S1 : 10-CHANNEL RADIO BROADCAST MIXER is a fixed-format broadcast mixer with analog and digital connections well suited for use in small-scale radio operations and instructional applications, or as a secondary or back up on-air mixer. The console can be fitted flush into a desktop or rackmounted and combines quality components with a streamlined and easy-to-use front panel that even novices can understand clearly.
A total of 10 input channels are available, featuring switchable inputs that include 5 mic, 4 mono line, 10 stereo analog, 2 stereo digital inputs, 1 telco, and 1 stereo cleanfeed. All of the balanced XLR input connectors have a 10 dB gain switch on the rear panel for use with unbalanced or low-level input sources. The microphone inputs each feature a gain calibration pot with up to 64 dB of gain, while the input trim pots provide ±12 dB of gain. Each channel offers a 2-band EQ, panning knob, 2 Aux sends, Cue/PFL switch, Mute switch, and an ALPS 100mm long-throw fader.
Analog output connections include a balanced XLR stereo Program output, 2 balanced stereo Aux outputs on a 9-way D-type connector, a mono cleanfeed output, a stereo cleanfeed output, three 1/4" jacks for headphones and monitors. Talkback and metering outputs are also provided. A digital stereo program output is supplied using XLR AES/EBU or RCA S/PDIF connectors. Synchronization sources can be connected via the S/PDIF, AES/EBU, or BNC wordclock.
