Record captivating three-dimensional audio with the AUDIO TECHNICA BP3600 : 360° IMMERSIVE MICROPHONE, a broadcast-ready microphone designed for capturing soundscapes in any environment. From sporting events and movie sets to concerts and festivals, this innovative mic array creates an immersive audio image ready to integrate seamlessly into advanced codecs like MPEG-H 3D Audio without additional processing.
The BP3600 is currently used by Dorna Sports to capture the real-time, live audio for MotoGP delivering an incredible immersive listening experience.
The BP3600 features a precision-engineered, eight-channel near-coincident array, with eight 3.5" microphone assemblies, forming a perfect cube. Each assembly houses a 12mm hypercardioid capsule, ensuring focused, discrete signals for every channel. The capsules are equidistant from the center and create an eight-channel, near-coincident array, providing spacious and controlled separation. The precise positioning of the eight microphone capsules mirrors that of the ambient speaker channels in a standard 5.1.4 surround setup, providing quick and easy ambient sound capture.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the BP3600 is compact and lightweight, making setup quick and hassle-free. It's ideal for inconspicuous use in video broadcasts and other professional settings. The TA3F connectors are color-coded and numbered for easy channel identification and include water protection caps for use in all weather conditions.
The BP3600 includes a 16-pin LEMO output connector, allowing seamless connection to mixing consoles or audio interfaces via the included 16.4' LEMO-to-XLRM breakout cable. Each microphone connector features color-coded and numbered channel indicator rings, matching one of the 8 individual XLR outputs for easy reference. Additional LEMO-to-LEMO extension cables are available for extended runs, ensuring flexibility for any setup. A built-in safety ring provides extra security for overhead installations in stadiums, auditoriums, or grandstands.
To optimize performance, the BP3600 comes with eight AT8177 windscreens and a microphone isolation stand clamp with a 5/8"-27 to 3/8"-16 threaded adapter. Optional Rycote BBG Windshields and Windjammer covers are available for enhanced noise protection in windy environments. When the job is done, the microphone disassembles quickly and stores safely in the included carrying case for easy transport.
