The TSL PAM2-MK2-ND : AUDIO & VIDEO MONITOR is a fully comprehensive, yet easy-to-use, audio monitoring solution. Whether working with traditional broadcast infrastructure or the latest generation IP networking solutions, the PAM audio monitoring range provides all the functionality required for operational and QC audio monitoring in a wide range of environments. For customers working with traditional infrastructures, the PAM-MK2 audio monitors provide easy-to-read and access audio meters along with video confidence monitoring, loudness monitoring and Dolby decoding for sources including SDI, AES, and analogue audio. For customers transitioning to IP infrastructure or working in Hybrid operations, the PAM-IP adds ST 2110, ST 2022-6 and Dante AoIP stream handling to the existing PAM-MK2 feature set.

PAM series

Precision Audio Monitor (PAM) series offers a number of confidence monitoring tools, supporting stereo, multi-channel, multi-language and surround-sound environments for use in applications including master control rooms, ingest and OB production. De-embedded audio is monitored through internal loudspeakers, headphones, or external stereo or 5.1 monitoring systems and levels may be displayed on OLED screens. The units support EBU and ATSC standards, SMTPE 2020 metadata monitoring, ITU BS177071 loudness measurement and histogram, user-configurable measurements through selectable bar-graph scales and GPIO and serial remote control.

Bar-graph scales include BBC PPM, EBU PPM, EBU Digital, Nordic, VU and DIN types. Each model has a single headphone socket mounted on the front panel, a 6.35mm, A-gauge jack, and a stereo, balanced-line output via two 3-pin, male, XLR connectors, with fixed or variable analogue multi-channel outputs for external stereo or 5.1 loudspeaker system integration.

The main difference between PAM1 and PAM2 models is the height, with PAM1 models housed in a 1U, 19-inch rackmount design, and PAM2 models housed in a 2U, 19-inch rack design. TSL suggest that for customers working with traditional infrastructures, PAM MK2 audio monitors provide the same interface and operational experience as the PAM-IP, including comprehensive loudness monitoring and Dolby Decoding capability.
