Kyno combines the functionality of a file browser, a media player, a conversion tool (transcoder) and a media management system and has a large number of functions that help accomplishing tasks that people typically face when having to do with digital media files (video, audio and images) such as finding, screening, converting, subclipping, renaming, image gallery export from videos and is smoothly integrated with video editing applications (Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro). It can be used instantly without training or studying documentation even by non-tech-savvy people because of its simple, intuitive user interface. It runs as a stand-alone desktop application on Mac and Windows and as one of its USPs has very moderate hardware requirements. It allows work in a team by sharing/editing files and metadata on shared file systems (SAN/NAS, removable drives), although it currently has no server functionality. Kyno has been on the market since 2016, has been featured very positively by numerous popular publications, such as Nofilmschool, Newsshooter (product of the year 2016), Cinema5d, Larry Jordan, Provideocoalition, Red Shark News, FCP.co, Slashcam and Digital Production and has been sold in 58 countries all over the world. It is used by a very wide spectrum of users ranging from filmmakers of all levels and specializations to photographers, journalists, creative agencies and seasoned broadcast pros as well as by professionals in the areas of sports, security, education, fashion, music, healthcare, real-estate and research.
