Behringer B-1 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone

01-MIC-GEN-011

Improve your home recording with the BEHRINGER B-1 : CONDENSER MICROPHONE, a large-diaphragm condenser mic with shock mounted and gold-sputtered 1" dual-diaphragm transducer and transformerless FET circuitry for distortion- and noise-free audio capture. Combined with the unidirectional pickup, the B-1 is ideally suited for vocals and acoustic guitar. The B-1 sports switches for a 75 Hz low-cut filter (ideal for handling unwanted rumbles and handling noises) and a -10 dB input pad for handling overly loud sound sources. With the pad engaged, the B-1 can handle up to 148 dB SPL. The durable body is constructed from die-cast brass with nickel plating, ensuring it will stand up to years of abuse. The B-1 includes a suspension-style shockmount, a foam windscreen, and an aluminum hard case.

What Is a Condenser Mic?

Condenser microphones are the ideal choice for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments. They are the primary type of microphone used in recording studios and radio stations. The B-1 mic is capable of capturing much more detail than most dynamic microphones because of its wider and flatter frequency response. Another difference between condenser and dynamic mics is that condensers contain active circuitry that requires phantom power (+48V) for operation. You can power your B-1 using any phantom power-equipped Behringer XENYX mixer.

Why the B-1?

The B-1 condenser microphone is an affordable, high-quality way to get what you really hear down on tape (or in bits). Thanks to the pressure gradient transducers and shock-mounted 1" gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm capsules, the B-1 mic delivers an open, transparent sound with excellent transient response, and ruler-flat frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a slight boost in the presence range. The B-1's cardioid pattern is ideally suited for picking up your source signal while rejecting off-axis sound, eliminating any bleed from the sides. Thanks to its exceptional transducers and gold-plated XLR outputs, the B-1 truly delivers on the promise of noise-free transmission, with the utmost transparency. The B-1 also has a switchable -10 dB attenuator to capture high-volume signal sources without distorting as well as a low-cut filter to tame ultralow frequencies.

Built to Last

The B-1 condenser microphone is designed to be your go-to studio mic for many years to come. The tough, die-cast nickel-plated brass body can withstand the rigors of all those late-night recording marathons. The included carrying case ensures your B-1 always travels in safety and style.
